Chelsea are trying to overcome English Premier League rivals Manchester United to the bringing of Sevilla centre-back Clement Lenglet according to Metro.
The 22-year-old former French youth international defender only moved to the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium 17 months ago but the player has received rave reviews for his performances for Sevilla, particularly in European matches.
It has now been on air that English top flight champions Chelsea and Manchester United are desperate for the sign up of the tough tackling defender. United are believed to have made an offer for the player, however, it is now thought that representatives from chelsea have also made communication with Lenglet’s agent.

The sevilla centre-back has an automatic release clause of around £31 million written into his contract, a fee which is very lower than many of Chelsea’s other defensive transfer targets.
Lenglet came through the youth ranks at French club Nancy and he was a Ligue 2 promotion winner with the club in 2015/2016. The defender joined Sevilla in January 2017 for a transfer fee of less than £5 million and his career with The Red and Whites has gone from strength-to-strength.
