Foods that help improve your memory
Brain foods are real. Of course they may
sound strange and unbelievable but scientifically there are some foods that
improve the functions of your memory. Just
like some foods actually have positive
impacts in our body systems so also there are some chemical substances that we
consume that improves our memory and thinking faculty. Perfectly as we have drugs and their
functions in the body so also foods and their classes of foods have their
functions some food substances also possess the functions of helping the
central nervous system which includes the brain especially.
The following are list of foods that help the
brain function well
1. Apples : apples contain an antioxidant known as quercetin, which has
been proven to reduce the risk of alzheimers disease in recent studies and
researches. Like blueberries, red apples contain anthocyanin, especially the
skin.
2. Spinach and vegetables: Spinach and other leafy green
vegetables have been proven to slow memory decline that is as a result of
aging. Spinach is also very rich in folic acid, a nutrient known for reducing
the Alzheimer’s disease.
Nuts and seeds: they are great
sources of vitamin E which is an important
antioxidant that can help reduce a decline in memory as you grow older. Look for
hazelnuts, dry almonds and sunflower seedes to boost your supply of vitamin E
4. Red onions: Red onions have anthocyanin and quercetin, making it an
excellent memory food. It prevents alzheimer’s disease and help reverse
age-related memory loss. Yellow and white onions are also beneficial for memory
improvement because they both have quercetin.
6. Rosemary: Eating or perceiving the scent of rosemary has been proven
to have positive effects on your memory. It helps increase the blood flow to
your brain. Compounds found in rosemary drastically reduce the breakdown of
acetylcholine.
